Dr. Sound (Kurosawa Musical Instrument Store)

If you are in Tokyo and have an interest in musical instruments, visit Ochanomizu. From the Ochanomizu JR train station, exit onto Meidai Dori (aka “Guitar Street”). Both sides of the street are lined with guitar shops. If you spend some time exploring you will also find other instruments. For bluegrass musicians, the essential shop is Dr. Sound. This is the flagship store of the sole distributor of Martin Guitars in Japan. They also carry mandolins, ukuleles, resonator guitars, and have a large selection of banjos from a variety of manufacturers. Google Maps link to Dr. Sound.
