In Japanese universities, unofficial groups run by students are referred to as “circles.” Here is a list of bluegrass circles at Japanese universities.
I thank Shinji Hosokawa, the President of HOSCO, Inc. for providing this list. HOSCO sells instrument parts, tools, and distributes instruments in Japan, including Deering banjos, Gold Star banjos, Kentucky Mandolins, as well as other brands of acoustic instruments.
If you have corrections, additional information, or know of additional Japanese university bluegrass clubs, please submit your information via the “Contact” page. Thank you!
